Linea gathers them in a single line, a bottle and two glasses resting in one block of black walnut, as dark and deep as the hour. Hands gave it its shape and its satin finish. A slim ring of brass marks where the bottle stands, the only bright note in the room. The surface runs flat and unbroken from end to end, with no handles to interrupt it; it lifts from beneath, as if it had nothing to prove. Set it between two chairs and the evening has a place to begin.

What it is, what it does well, and how to keep it.
- What it is
- A single block of black walnut, with a brass ring where the bottle stands. Holds two glasses and a bottle. Hand-crafted in India.
- What it does well
- The finish is alcohol-proof, so a whiskey spill wipes away, and it is food-safe and satin to the touch. A finger slot under each end lets you lift it without handles.
- Looking after it
- Wipe spills straight away with a damp cloth, then dry. Never soak it or put it in the dishwasher, and keep it away from direct heat. Every once in a while, after many uses, rub in a little 100% food-grade mineral oil and 100% natural beeswax.
- Good to know
- The grain and colour differ from tray to tray, and the brass may mellow with time. One-year replacement warranty.
