The story

Some things are bought to be used up.
Elembre makes the other kind.

The name

Our name is the first ingredient.

Ember, the last glow of a fire, the warmth that stays in a room long after the talking has stopped. And lembre, the Portuguese word for remember. Together they make a quiet promise: a piece that warms a home, and is remembered long after.

Elembre. Rhymes with remember.

Wood with a purpose

Every piece begins with a question we never rush.

What is it for? Only then do we choose the wood, the way a chef waits for the season before writing the menu. One wood for its depth, another for its warmth, and others still waiting for their turn. Each is chosen for what it does best.

The making

Then we give it time.

The wood is shaped slowly and finished until it feels warm in the hand. Run your palm across it and you feel the years the tree spent growing. Turn it to the lamp and the grain wakes up, amber and honey and smoke.

The lathe does the turning; the hands do the knowing. Then the inside of the glass meets fire, the way a cooper wakes a cask, and the glow dies down into a fine dark crackle.

The first pieces

We begin with the evening.

The slow pour, the low light, the conversation nobody wants to end. From there the house of Elembre moves through the home, to the table and every room where people gather.

The evening

The slow pour, the low light.

The conversation nobody wants to end. The last pour of the evening, finally in the right hands.

Every piece has a story

Its own story, on its card.

Every piece is made in India and arrives with its own story, written on its card. The grain in yours belongs to no one else.

The story of each piece is on its page: the oak glass, Linea and Compass.

At home

Set it between two chairs and the evening has a place to begin.
